Lacquer Sage-Dansu, Meiji Period, of rectangular form, with two hinged doors opening to two columns of three drawers, the whole above a larger deep drawer, decorated in gold takamakie, kiramakie, togidashi, and kirigane, with recessed panels of birds among flowers, the interior similarly decorated on a mura nashiji ground, bronzed copper mounts, bronze drawer handles. Measures 16 inches wide by 10 inches deep and 16 and one half inches high. |
