Nishou, Japanese carved wood Inro with mice. This contemporary Japanese double case carved wood Inro is signed by the artist maker Nishou. The carving detail is just wonderful depicting two mice crawling around a violin. This carved wood Inro has a carved wood mouse for the netsuke as well. Measures 5 inches long by 2 and one quarter inches wide.

Japanese black Lacquered gilt cabinet c1840. Rare and early Black lacquered and gilt decorated cabinet. The rectangular case and two doors a with ornate gilded and incised mounts and hinges, bordered in speckled lacquer, each side with bail handles; the interior fitted with an arrangement of drawers. Now mounted on a modern oriental style stand. Height 21 inches, width 27 and one quarter inches, depth 16 and one half inches. The stand is 32 and one half inches high. The condition is quite good. There is a slight warp to the bottom of the front left door. The lacquer work is museum quality.

Oriental bronze figure of a lion sculpture. This bronze sculpture is signed by the artist on the back. This is a wonderful bronze with a great moss green patina. This heavy bronze sculpture is either Japanese or Chinese we are not sure at the moment as to which country. The detail is very realistic with a roaring lion fighting with a tiger on a rockery. This sculpture measures 29 inches wide by 14 inches deep and15 inches high.

Six panel Japanese Byobu, or folding screen, with falcon motif. A six fold late 1800's byobu, depicting falcons. Falcons in Japan were respected for their keen vision, speed of flight, and determination. These elegant birds were trained for the great sport of falconry during the Meiji Reign of 1868 to 1912. This screen was put in order and rebacked using old brocade for borders. It measures 5 feet six inches high. Each of the six sections is 22 1/2 inches wide. The folded screen measures 6 inches thick for easy storage.
